Our kettle adjustable and non-adjustable face thermometers are both optimized to be used in typical mash temperature ranges. The screw on the back allows you to adjust and calibrate the needle in case it is no longer reading accurately. Using an external thermometer, we recommend verifying the temperature of your mash. If it is off, simply use a screwdriver to move the needle to the temp it should be at and you should be set!
