If you attempt a full CIP, it's crucial that you attach a "vent" to your conical. Not venting can result in a vacuum that forms inside your conical during the flow of water in and out of your CIP, potentially damaging the vessel. Luckily the conical comes standard with all the materials you need to vent properly.
Here is the procedure for venting your conical
- Remove the TC thermowell from the front temperature port on the conical.
- Attach the 90 degree TC Barb to the front temperature port, with the elbow pointing up
- Attach a long hose to the barb and lay the hose over the top of the conical
- Proceed with the CIP
