Wort is very susceptible to contamination and infection below 180 degrees, so it's key to drop wort temperature to yeast pitching target temperature as quickly as possible. The wort chiller would be used after boiling, as you move from boil kettle into your fermenter.

Our counter flow wort chiller features a dual tube design using cold water to cool your wort in mere minutes. Cold water will flow through the outer tube, while your wort runs through an inner tube in route to your conical. Leave your contamination concerns behind and ensure a strong start to fermentation with our counter flow chiller!

Our chiller has about ~.2 gallons of dead space.

Each tube (inner and outer) is 17 feet long. The inner tube is 3/8" ID, made with high quality copper. The outer tube is 5/8" ID, made with 304 stainless steel.
